We Are As Gods

In 2012, Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler published Abundance in which they made bold predictions about where the future was heading, if humanity only harnessed the powers of emerging tech. Those predictions have borne out in the real world. In We Are As Gods, they will document the on-the-ground reality of this shift, detailing the massive transformations that have occurred during this past decade, their profound implications for our day-to-day lives, and what's in store during the decade ahead. From companies producing meat from stem cells to meet the increasing protein demands of billions to 3D printing technology that can build incredible custom-designed homes to the estimated ten billion humanoid robots that will operate alongside humanity by 2040, Diamandis and Kotler consider a future in which our role as humans is reinvented. Along the way, they'll look at the dark side of abundance - the carbon-hungry needs of AI, growing mental health crises and concerns around techno-unemployment - and offer the reader a survival guide for thriving amidst chaos.
